About Capital Region Birth & Baby
My Background
My name is Lawren Masters and I am the founder of Birth and Baby LLC. I have over 3 years of experience working with infants, toddlers, and their families as an Early Childhood Educator, I have hundreds of hours in early childhood development training, and I have an additional 2+ years working as a birth doula. I've spent countless hours studying and training in the areas of pregnancy, birth, bereavement, and the postpartum period.
I have helped and held many families as they navigated their reproductive and parenting journeys. I look forward to growing with you.
Philosophy
At it's core, birth is a normal bodily function. We understand this is a paradigm shift from the culturally normalized belief that birth is inherently dangerous and by default is a medical event requiring supervision, management, and augmentation. However, birth, postpartum, and bereavement are all natural human processes that are deserving of adequate preparation, visibility, support, understanding, and respect from the community.
At Birth and Baby LLC we believe that every parent is deserving of unconditional, non-judgmental support along their journey.
Services
Birth and Baby LLC offers a range of services including birth doula care, postpartum doula care, bereavement doula care, and soon-to-be classes and digital downloads to parents of Albany and surrounding areas in the Greater Capital Region.
These services are designed to help families feel better supported with evidence-based information, psychological and physical comforts, and tools for self-advocacy.
